Plunge Terms of Use

DRAFT: not yet reviewed by a lawyer.

Last updated: October 10, 2026

These terms are between you and Elizabeth Lennox ("we", "us") and cover the Plunge desktop app, the Plunge hub (where people share VR builds) and the Plunge lobby service (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use it.

1. What Plunge is

Plunge helps you play games you already own in virtual reality. It scans your Steam library, installs "profiles" (VR builds) into your own copy of a game, and can remove them again. Profiles are made by you, by your AI coding agent, or by other people on the hub.

Plunge is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Valve, Steam, Meta, Epic Games, any game publisher or developer, or the makers of UEVR or any other third-party tool. All game names and trademarks belong to their owners.

2. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the Plunge app on your own devices. You may not sell, rent or sublicense it, or remove its notices. Open-source and third-party parts are covered by their own licences, listed in the Third-Party Notices.

You need an account to publish or like builds on the hub. You sign in with a password, an emailed code or Google, so keep access to your email address and any password secure: you are responsible for what is done with your account. One person, one account, and a username that does not pretend to be someone else. You can delete your account at any time in the app or at plungevr.com/account, which also deletes what you published. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.

3. You must own the game

You may only use Plunge with games you have legally acquired. Plunge never ships a game's own files, and you must not upload them. You are responsible for following the terms of the games and platforms you use.

4. Rules that cannot be bent

5. Profiles and third-party programs

A profile can include third-party programs (such as mod loaders) that the game loads and runs on your computer. Plunge asks you before running a profile that includes them, and shows who made them. You run profiles at your own risk. We check uploads automatically for some problems, but we cannot guarantee that a profile is safe, will work, or will not break your game or your saves. Back up your saves. Plunge keeps a record so it can remove what it installed and restore the files it replaced, but that cannot cover every case.

6. Content you upload

If you publish a profile to the hub:

We may remove any content, and refuse or end access, at any time, including for the reasons in the Copyright and Takedown Policy.

7. Sponsored content

The app may show clearly labelled "Sponsored" cards. You can turn them off in Settings. We do not control the content of advertisers' sites that a card links to.

8. Privacy

See the Privacy Policy for what the app and the Service collect and send.

9. Disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with any game, or that a profile will work after the game updates.

10. Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for loss of data, saves, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 50 USD. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Ending these terms

You can stop using the Service at any time and uninstall the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as 6, 9, 10 and 13) will survive.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is important we will tell you in the app or on our website. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, and courts in Dallas County, Texas will decide disputes, except where the law of your country gives you rights that cannot be waived.
